The Act, Code and Regulations

The Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) and the Electricity Industry (Enforcement) Regulations 2010 (Regulations) came into force on 1 November 2010. The Code is largely based on the Electricity Governance Rules 2003, the Electricity Governance (Security of Supply) Regulations 2008 and the Electricity Governance (Connection of Distributed Generation) Regulations 2007.

The Authority is required to make and administer the Code and to monitor compliance with the Act, Regulations, and the Code.
