Settlement and Prudential Security Technical Group appointed
A new technical group has been established to provide practical assistance and advice on the Authority's development of Code amendments and market facilitation measures to further progress the Settlement and Prudential Security Review recommendations of the Wholesale Advisory Group.
The Settlement and Prudential Security Technical Group will assist the Authority to prepare a Code amendment consultation paper to embody the advisory group's recommendations.
It is intended to publish the consultation paper at the end of March 2013.
The newly appointed Chair of the Settlement and Prudential Security Technical Group is:

Transmission pricing methodology forums
The Authority is holding discussion forums on the transmission pricing methodology issues paper, released last week. Details of the events are as follows:
Wellington, 17 October, 10am-1pm. Venue: Te Aro 3, Terrace Conference Centre, Level 4, St John House, 114 The Terrace.
Christchurch, 18 October, 10am-1pm. Venue: Lecture Theatre, Air Force Museum, 45 Harvard Avenue, Wigram.
Auckland, 19 October, 10am-1pm. Venue: The Cliftons, Level 2, 45 Queen Street, Auckland CBD.
Morning tea will be provided.

Transmission pricing methodology issues paper: data files
The Authority has published a number of data files containing data used in the presentation material accompanying the release of the transmission pricing methodology issues paper. It is important to note that the data is based on SPD modelling simulations using historical market offers, and should not be treated as being predictive of actual future transmission charges.

FTR manager: consultation paper proposing FTR allocation plan variation
The FTR manager (Energy Market Services) has released a consultation paper proposing consequential changes to the approved financial transmission rights (FTR) allocation plan 2012. The changes align the plan to several FTR-related Code amendments that have been gazetted this year. The paper is available on EMS's website at:

Policy Statement and Procurement Plan amendment processes
The Authority and system operator consider there are opportunities to improve the process by which the policy statement and procurement plan are reviewed and amended. As the review process is prescribed in the Code, the Authority is now consulting on a Code amendment to give effect to its proposal.

Operational review of Part 6
A consultation on proposed changes to Part 6 of the Code, which deals with the connection of distributed generation to distribution networks, with associated changes to Parts 1 and 17.

Consulting on appropriations, work priorities and programme
The Electricity Authority and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) are consulting on proposed 2013/14 annual appropriations and their respective work programmes. A joint consultation paper covers Authority appropriations and those EECA and Consumer Affairs activities that are funded by the levy on industry participants.
