New Zealand contributes to East Asian electricity forum
The Electricity Authority has co-hosted a forum with Singapore's regulator, the Energy Markets Authority, to promote greater sharing of knowledge among East Asia electricity regulators.
The East Asia Summit Energy Market Deregulation Forum was held in Singapore last week, as part of the annual Singapore International Energy Week, attracting delegates from across the region to discuss market performance and key issues facing markets and regulators.
Authority Chief Executive Carl Hansen chaired a panel discussion entitled Gauging the performance of the Electricity Market in which regulators, including New Zealand, provided updates about their respective markets. New Zealand's views were also sought in an online forum.
