2009 Grid Upgrade Plan - archive

This work was undertaken by the Electricity Commission. A Grid Upgrade Plan (GUP) was a plan prepared by Transpower and submitted to the Commission to upgrade the high-voltage transmission network, or national grid, that transmits electricity throughout the country. This page contains information and documents relating to the 2009 GUP.

Transpower submitted a new grid upgrade plan to the Electricity Commission on 11 September 2009 (2009 GUP). The 2009 GUP contained, among other things:

A comprehensive plan for asset management and operation of the grid
Information on investment contracts; and four investment proposals.

On 26 April 2010, Transpower provided the Commission with its 2010 asset management plan, which revised Transpower's 2009 asset management plan.
