Distributors

Distributors have a variety of obligations under the Code. As monopoly businesses, they are also subject to price and quality regulation by the Commerce Commission.

Those distributors who own a network that is connected to the national grid, (owned by Transpower New Zealand Ltd), are all members of the Electricity Networks Association.

Transfer of ICPs between distributors' networks

Schedule 11.2 of the Code sets out the requirements that a distributor must comply with when transferring ICPs from one distributor's network to another (including embedded networks).

The Authority has an application form that must be filled out when requesting transfer of these ICPs. The application form can be found in the Related Documents section below.
