vSPD input files

At the end of each trading day, the Pricing Manager sends the final pricing case data to the Authority via an ftp facility. The Authority then processes that data to create a GDX file, which can be used to run the vSPD model. A single GDX file is created for each day, and contains all of the data required by vSPD to reproduce the final prices at all nodes for that day.

The daily GDX files are named according to the following convention:

FP_yyyymmdd.zip where:

• FP denotes final pricing case;

• yyyy denotes the year;

• mm denotes the month; and

• dd denotes the day.

For example, FP_20101026.zip contains the GDX file with the final pricing case data for all trading periods on 26 October 2010.

vSPD GDX files may be downloaded from the Electricity Authority's market data and reporting portal.
