About Power System Operations & Common Quality
The Power System Operations and Common Quality workstream is responsible for:
- developing the regulatory framework, policies and standards that define appropriate levels of quality for power system services that are common to all grid-connected parties (contained primarily in Part 8 and some of Part 7 of the Code). Examples of development tasks include developing systems that will allow more competition in the provision of frequency keeping services, optimising under-frequency event management, and determining standards for grid-connected wind generators;
- overseeing the operation of the power system including monitoring of the System Operator’s performance, contributing to standing and ad-hoc industry security groups, reviewing alleged rule breaches by the System Operator and participants and dealing with exemption requests; and
- managing the market operation and service provider contract for the provision of System Operator services.
