Work programmes
The Authority's role in transmission includes:
- overseeing and developing the regulatory framework for transmission, as set out in part 12 of the Code;
- developing aspects of the contracting arrangements for transmission services including the benchmark agreement and interconnection rules;
- approving the transmission pricing methodology which determines how total transmission charges are divided up among the contracting parties, and the basis for those charges such as their share of peak usage.
This work is the responsibility of the Authority's Modelling and forecasting team, headed by Bruce Smith. The Authority also draws on the advice and expertise of transmission project teams and advisory groups.
