Retail & Consumer Advisory Group (disestablished)

The Retail and Consumer Advisory Group (RCAG) provided advice to the Authority (as and when requested by the Authority) on projects that aimed to promote strong retail competition, arrangements for the protection of consumers, and relevant sections in the Code.

In 2010 the Authority carried out a general review of its advisory groups. This led to the Authority's decision to establish three new standing advisory groups - the Retail Advisory Group, the Transmission Advisory Group, and the Wholesale Advisory Group. Consequently, the Retail & Consumer Advisory Group was disestablished.

The members of the RCAG were:

  • Keith Tempest (Chair)
  • Jason Delamore (Contact)
  • John van Brink (WEL Networks)
  • Nigel Barbour (Powerco)
  • Peter Rutledge (Grey Power)
  • Ralph Matthes (Major Electricity Users' Group)
  • Scott Harnett (Abacus Consulting)
  • Anne Herrington (Smart Power)

Karen Chaney, Director Retail, was the Authority's representative on the group.

Prior to 31 October 2010, the RCAG was administered by the Electricity Commission.
