Normal Frequency - Generator Asset Owner Performance Obligations

Consultation period: 17 June 2010 to 30 July 2010 5:00pm

The Commission has undertaken a review of the obligations of generation assets to support frequency under normal conditions. The review was in part prompted by concerns about the potential impacts of increasing wind generation on frequency keeping requirements. As a result of the review, the Commission proposes changes to the obligations having regard for all generator types.

The Commission has prepared a paper setting setting out its detailed proposals.

The Commission invites submissions on the proposal by 5.00 pm on Friday 30 July 2010. Please note that because of the tight regulatory timing obligations on the Commission this year, submissions received after this date will unlikely be considered.
