Electricity Information Exchange Protocols – Proposed amendments

NOTE: On 1 March 2012 the Authority idecided to extend the EIEP consultation for one week. The new closing date is 5 pm on Friday 9 March 2012.

The version of EIEP12 used in the consultation paper had minor variations in wording in some places from the current version of EIEP12 incorporated by reference into the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (as published on the Authority's website), although the intent of the wording remained the same.

These minor variations were unintentional, and the wording has now been corrected and a new version of EIEP12 has been placed in the Appendix D - Draft functional specification published below.

About this consultation

The purpose of this paper is to consult with participants and persons likely to be affected by proposed revisions to the existing EIEPs, definitions of billing methodologies and alignment of definitions with the registry and reconciliation manager functional specifications. The paper includes discussion of the desirability of requiring that some of the EIEPs are implemented by participants on a mandatory basis but does not propose such a step. The information obtained from feedback to this consultation paper will inform the Authority’s ongoing consideration of these issues.

The intended audience of this paper will require knowledge of the use of EIEPs in the context of information exchange between electricity industry participants.

The Authority’s preference is to receive submissions in electronic format (Microsoft Word). It is not necessary to send hard copies of submissions to the Authority, unless it is not possible to do so electronically.

Submissions should be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 2 March 2012. Please note that late submissions are unlikely to be considered.

The Authority will acknowledge receipt of all submissions electronically. Please contact the Submissions’ Administrator if you do not receive electronic acknowledgement of your submission within two business days.

Your submission is likely to be made available to the general public on the Authority’s website. Submitters should indicate any documents attached, in support of the submission, in a covering letter and clearly indicate any information that is provided to the Authority on a confidential basis. However, all information provided to the Authority is subject to the Official Information Act 1982.
