Operational review of Part 6

About this consultation

Part 6 of the Code deals with the connection of distributed generation (DG) to distribution networks. The matters covered in Part 6 were previously set out in the Electricity Governance (Connection of Distributed Generation) Regulations 2007.

The consultation paper has three main elements:

1. A consultation on proposed changes to Part 6, with associated changes to Parts 1 and 17. The key proposal within this section proposes that a simpler notification process be created for connection of DG that meets certain criteria.
2. A discussion on issues relating to the connection of DG.
3. A response to submissions received during the pre-consultation on connection of DG.

Submissions

The Authority's preference is to receive submissions in electronic format. It is not necessary to send hard copies of submissions to the Authority, unless it is not possible to do so electronically.

Submissions should be received by 5:00pm on Tuesday 30 October 2012. Please note that late submissions are unlikely to be considered, though they will be noted for any future reviews.

The Authority will acknowledge receipt of all submissions electronically. Please contact the Submissions' Administrator if you do not receive electronic acknowledgement of your submission within two business days.

Submitters should indicate any documents attached, in support of the submission, in a covering letter and clearly indicate any information that is provided to the Authority on a confidential basis. However, all information provided to the Authority is subject to the Official Information Act 1982.
