Draft Grid Reliability Standards
About this Consultation
Under Section III of Part F of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003, the Commission is required to consider and determine the grid reliability standards.
The objective of the grid reliability standards, as set out in Part F, is to provide a basis for the Commission to publish Statements of Opportunities, for Transpower for prepare Grid Upgrade Plans, and for other parties to appraise opportunities for transmission investments and transmission alternatives.
Attached is the Commission's consultation document which includes the proposed draft grid reliability standards as required by Rule 4.5 of Section III of Part F.
The Commission invites submissions on the proposal and in answer to the specific questions by 5pm on the submission expiry date of 9 February 2005.
Please note that, because of the statutory timing obligations of the Commission, submissions received after this submission expiry date may not be able to be considered. For the same reason, there will be no opportunity for cross submissions.
