Electricity Authority/System operator joint development programme update

The Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) requires the Authority and the system operator (Transpower) to agree and publish a joint development programme at least annually. We have recently agreed updates to the programme that reflect progress, changes to priorities, and other planning that has occurred since the last annual publication in August 2018.

Beginner registry user training – Wellington and Auckland

The Authority is running training courses for beginner registry users in Wellington on 25 and 26 September 2019 and Auckland on 23 and 24 October 2019.

Attendance numbers are limited, and registration is essential. More information is available on our website.

New exemption granted to Mercury NZ Limited

We have granted and gazetted an exemption for Mercury NZ Limited (Exemption No. 281). Mercury NZ Limited is exempted from the obligation to arrange a distributor audit under clause 11.10 of the Code. This exemption applies only in respect of the grid exit point at Atiamuri (ATI2201 MRPL GN).

Code Amendment: Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Wind Offer Arrangements) 2019

On 19 September 2019 amendments from the Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Wind Offer Arrangements) 2019, will come into force.  

The amendments are to Parts 1 and 13 of the Code.

Code Amendment: Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Revocation of Requirement to Provide Daily Situation Report) 2019

On 19 September 2019 an amendment from the Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Revocation of Requirement to Provide Daily Situation Report) 2019, will come into force.

The amendment is to Part 13 of the Code.
