This amendment to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) is made under section 38 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (Act) by the Electricity Authority, having complied with section 39 of that Act.

Electricity Industry Participation Code (Injection Payment Requirements Amendment)
Amendment 2026
In clause 12A.7(1), replace "small business consumers" with "business consumers with a connection capacity of 45kVA or less".
After clause 12A.7(1), insert:
(1A) Despite subclause (1), a negative charge for injection of electricity is not required to be offered or paid to any distributed generation with maximum deliverable generation capacity of more than 45kW in total across three phases.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the amendment but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This amendment to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) comes into force on 1 April 2026.
The amendment amends clause 12A.7 of the Code to clarify which consumers are eligible to receive negative charges for injection into a distributor's network during peak periods by specifying an upper limit to a business consumer's connection capacity, and the maximum deliverable generation capacity for a consumer's distributed generation.
