Update on transmission pricing methodology work

  • Transmission
  • Prices

The new transmission pricing methodology started in April 2022. Few major changes were made to connection charges under the new transmission pricing methodology, as we considered connection charges under the old transmission pricing methodology to be largely consistent with the principles of efficient transmission charging.

We want to make sure regulation keeps up with shared connection assets, including the increasingly available battery energy storage systems. We therefore expect to consult on clauses in the transmission pricing methodology about connection charges for shared connection assets in June 2024 to make sure they are appropriate.
