Retail participants required to update the Participant register

  • Retail
  • Compliance

The Electricity Authority requires all retail participants that sell electricity to domestic consumers to ensure their details are up to date in the Participant register by 1pm on 19 July 2023, ahead of the Consumer Care Guidelines Annual Alignment Statement declaration for 2022/23.

We need accurate business and contact details to send out important correspondence to the right people about the annual declaration, such as how to complete the alignment statement.

It is a statutory obligation for all industry participants to keep their details up to date under Section 29 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010. Failure to do so is an offence under the Act.

Industry participants can check their information is correct by logging into the Participant Register

For any questions, please contact participantregister@ea.govt.nz.
