Overview
The Electricity Authority is undertaking an operational review of the consumer and installation control point (ICP) identifier switching process between traders. The Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 sets out the process where an ICP identifier is transferred from one trader to another trader.

Project background
The switch process is a critical industry process that transfers ICP identifiers from a losing trader to a gaining trader. The current switch process was created in October 2002 and there have been various changes made to the process since that time, but the whole process has not had an end-to-end review.
