GDX files for real-time dispatch and pricing

The daily GDX files available on this page contain the relevant SPD inputs from the RTD and PRSS schedules that give rise to dispatch prices for any given day. The naming convention for the GDX files is Pricing_YYYYMMDD.gdx, and they are grouped in yearly folders.

A GDX file is an input data file to be used with the vSPD model. If the vSPD model was run without modifying any of the inputs, it will typically replicate the published dispatch prices for that day.

Real-time operation of the system is managed using the real-time dispatch (RTD) instance of SPD. Besides giving rise to the dispatch instructions issued to generators, RTD schedules also yield dispatch energy and reserve prices. The RTDP (RTD for pricing) schedule may sometimes be published if scarcity pricing is in play. PRSS (short price-responsive schedule) schedules will be used to elicit dispatch prices if RTD cases are unavailable for any reason. This occurs quite frequently, especially for the first minute or two of the trading period, ie the first RTD schedule for the trading period may not apply for the first minute or so.
