SPD case files

Prices in the wholesale market are determined using a model called SPD. An SPD case file is a zipped collection of text files containing all of the inputs to and outputs from a single run of the SPD model.

SPD case files for final pricing are available from about the middle of 2009 until 1 November 2022 when real-time pricing was introduced and final pricing case files ceased to exist. Depending on whether prices were provisional before they were interim, and whether or not a pricing error claim resulted in prices being recalculated, there may be several final pricing case files per day, although typically there is only one or two. The most recently produced file can safely be assumed to be the case associated with prices that have been declared final.

Adding files to this folder stopped on 1 November 2022 with the advent of real-time pricing.
