Case study: getting audit compliance plans right
- Code
- Compliance
We have published a case study for industry participants who are required to provide regular audits. It explains what needs to be included in an audit compliance plan and why it is in participants’ interests to provide the right information.
The case study shows the Authority has been receiving compliance plans that don't meet requirements. Common issues include:
- vague actions to resolve non compliances
- no timeframes for completing those actions.
We approve audits for periods ranging from three months to almost three years. A strong audit compliance plan makes it more likely for participants to have longer periods between audits.
If a compliance plan is inadequate, the period between audits may be shorter. The Authority may also take further action, including alleging breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010.
