Electricity Authority hosts another successful auditor forum

  • Compliance

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (Authority) hosted a successful auditors forum in Wellington on Wednesday 7 May 2025. It was an opportunity for auditors to connect and share industry observations while learning new processes and systems, including developments from the Authority.

We also welcomed guest speakers from the Retailers Forum and Utilities Disputes, who discussed issues from their perspective outside of the audit process.

Auditors and Authority staff identified areas for potential improvement. Topics discussed included consumer protection, distributed unmetered load issues, changes to our audit portal and a workshop on areas of the audit regime that may need review.

Auditors told us that the forum was a great opportunity to connect with each other and Authority staff and compare insights that will support their communication with participants. They also found the conversations informative and essential to the work that they do.

The next auditors forum will be hosted by the Authority in 2026 and will be advertised on our website.

Auditors are appointed by the Authority to review industry participant procedures to confirm accuracy and compliance with the Code. A register of auditors, and how to become an auditor, can be found on our website.
