Explore our new ‘Data and insights’ hub

  • Corporate

We’ve created a new ‘Data and insights’ hub on this website to provide access to the latest electricity market data, tools and insights on New Zealand’s electricity markets.

The aim is to bring all our data and insights into one place so that it’s easier for you come to this website for all the information you need.

Explore our new ‘Data and insights’ hub and find:

  • Interactive charts and dashboards – to understand key trends and developments
  • Downloadable datasets – for analysis, research and decision making
  • APIs and tools – on key electricity market data
  • Trading conduct reports – keep informed about how the markets are performing in our weekly and quarterly reports
  • Market reviews – explore in-depth reviews into unusual events or outcomes
  • Eye on electricity explainers – learn how electricity and the sector works to keep the lights on
  • Security of supply snapshots – understand how secure our electricity supply is every week.

The ‘Data and insights’ hub brings together content from our EMI website, Tableau Public and the industry pages of our website into one place to make it easier to access, find and navigate electricity data and insights.

We will continue to add to and improve the hub over the coming months, moving the content over from our EMI website, and then decommission the EMI website at the end of 2025.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on the ‘Data & insights’ hub, we would love to hear from you! Contact info@ea.govt.nz
