Minor changes to retail market monitoring notice
- Consumers
- Retail
Following feedback from retailers, the Electricity Authority has made some minor amendments to the clause 2.16 notice for retail market monitoring that we issued on 17 March 2025.
The changes are technical and non-controversial.
We are amending reporting requirements to allow retailers with customers that are billed after the date when billing information is due to be submitted to provide these ‘late’ bills the following month.
We have also corrected some other typographical errors.
When ready to start testing systems, retailers will need to contact our Data Products team on data.products@ea.govt.nz to request a new Secure File Transfer Protocol user account to be provisioned.
The first reports from retailers are due to the Authority in August and towards the end of 2025 we will begin publishing aggregated retail data and insights on our website.
