Electricity Authority and Gas Industry Company align to deliver better outcomes for energy consumers

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (Authority) and the Gas Industry Company Ltd (Gas Industry Co) have signed a memorandum of understanding that sets out how they will coordinate their respective roles and a framework for ongoing cooperation.
The agreed principles between the Authority and Gas Industry Co will guide their collaboration, particularly in relation to their work programmes and any information sharing between them.
“Our partnership with the Gas Industry Company is more important than ever. We are committed to working together to ensure New Zealanders have a secure and resilient energy supply, now and in the future”, said Electricity Authority Chief Executive Sarah Gillies. “This memorandum signals our priority to take a system-wide approach to ensuring energy is delivered to consumers in a reliable and efficient manner.”
“We recognise that we and the Authority share common interests in relation to our respective roles in the electricity and gas industries. This memorandum sets out how we will work together to successfully deliver these objectives for New Zealanders,” said Gas Industry Company Chief Executive Andrew Knight.
