Code review programmes address various themes or issues that arise in the Code.

    We regularly review the Electricity Industry Participation Code to improve its clarity and keep it up to date as New Zealand’s electricity system evolves.

    Our latest consultation focused on a set of changes to the Code to support the efficient operation of the electricity system. We invited feedback on 23 changes to the Code as part of our Code review programme #5.

    We would like to thank all those who responded to our consultation paper. We released our decisions on 30 January 2024 and all Code amendments come into force on 1 March 2024.
