Multiple trading relationships
Consultation
Thank you to all who engaged with this consultation.
This consultation sought feedback on the potential barriers that may limit consumers’ ability to use electricity or electricity services provided by more than one party at the same time, at the same location (multiple trading relationships).
Specifically, we sought feedback on the size of the potential barriers identified and whether removing these barriers might create a net long-term benefit to consumers by improving competition in, reliable supply by and efficient operation of the electricity sector.
Making it easier for consumers to have multiple trading relationships is likely to have benefits: more choice for consumers, greater competition and innovation in business models and services, more reliable supply and a more efficient electricity industry.
