This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This amendment to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") comes into force on 1 January 2025.

The amendment introduces a new Part 11A: Consumer Care into the Code, which mandates many of the recommendations in the Authority's existing Consumer Care Guidelines (with some changes to resolve clarity, workability and enforceability issues). It imposes a set of minimum standards on retailers (along with some requirements on distributors and traders) when dealing with residential consumers.
