Annual levy rates calculated for 2025/26

  • Corporate

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko's annual levy rates have been calculated for the financial year ending 30 June 2026, in accordance with regulation 7 of the Electricity Industry (Levy of Industry Participants) Regulations 2010.

The annual levy rates have been published in the New Zealand Gazette and are now available to view.

The Authority received a $7.8 million increase in the levy-funded appropriation from the Government’s Budget 2025 and this is reflected through the levy rates for 2025/26.

The additional funding recognises the work the Authority needs to complete to promote a reliable and affordable supply of electricity as Aotearoa electrifies and transitions to an increasingly renewables-based system.

The uplift will enable us to pay for the increased cost of the System Operator contract, cover service provider contractual obligations and deliver high priority work to improve the electricity market for consumers.
