Industry simulation exercise

  • Distribution
  • Retail

In preparation for winter, the Electricity Authority recently held an industry simulation exercise alongside Transpower as the system operator.

The first day of the exercise, led by Transpower, involved control room staff from lines companies across the country. The second day, led by the Electricity Authority, focused on communications from the system operator to distributors and retailers and out to customers.

We collected useful data during the simulation and in the post-event survey. We will now review the information, and plan to share our observations directly with attendees and via this website and our newsletter.

Thank you to everyone who took part. It was great to see the industry come together to manage their respective roles in the electricity system when it comes under pressure.
