MLC decision papers published

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko has today published decision papers outlining the reasons for our clearance of agreements between Meridian Energy and New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter (NZAS) and Contact Energy and NZAS.

We announced on 19 June 2024 that we had cleared both agreements with NZAS under the materially large contract (MLC) provisions in the Electricity Industry Participation Code (2010).
