Our latest quarterly report to the Minister for Energy, Simon Watts, summarises what we achieved from 1 October to 31 December 2024. Highlights include updates on the Energy Competition Task Force, Consumer Care Obligations and our Winter 2025 preparation.

The report shows that we continued to deliver to the Minister’s expectations and activities in our Statement of performance expectations 2024/25, with 100% of our performance measures on track and 83% of our activity areas on track to deliver expected outcomes.

Highlights from this reporting period include:

  • progress across all eight Energy Competition Task Force initiatives
  • improving the transparency and monitoring of retail price increases for retailers with more than 1,000 connections
  • implementing two key Consumer Care Obligations and planning for all remaining obligations to be effective from 1 April 2025
  • significant progress on our Winter 2025 preparation across four key workstreams
  • receiving 44 submissions in round 1 of our Power Innovation Pathway, encouraging more innovation, competition and investment
  • developing and consulting on two proposed changes to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010, to regulate efficient connection pricing and to improve the process for connecting to the distribution network.
