Seeking feedback on 27 June 2024 under-frequency event
- Compliance
We are seeking feedback from generators, the grid owner and other participants who may be substantially affected by the under-frequency event of 27 June 2024. An under-frequency event occurs when the frequency falls below 49.25Hz because of a loss of injection of more than 60 megawatts into the grid.
You can read the draft determination of causer for the under-frequency event and please provide your feedback to us by 5pm on 15 November 2024.
Our draft determination is that Genesis Energy Limited, as a generator, was the causer of this under-frequency event. Reasons for this are outlined in the draft determination paper.
We welcome feedback on both the draft determination as well as the system operator’s calculation of the megawatts of power lost during the event.
All submissions will be considered before a determination on the under-frequency event is made final.
