Workshop on retail price consistency assessments guidance in December

  • Prices

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko invites industry to register for an in-person workshop in Wellington on 9 December 2025. The workshop will focus on guidance for undertaking retail price consistency assessments (RPCAs).

RPCAs are part of our proposed level playing field non-discrimination obligations. Subject to consultation on the proposed Code amendment, a gentailer would be able to use an RPCA to demonstrate an economically justifiable link between its expected cost of supply and retail prices. This would show it is not discriminating against buyers of risk management contracts in favour of its own retail arm in relation to price terms.

You can learn more about RPCAs in our Level playing field proposed Code amendments - consultation paper (published 14 October 2025).
