Task Force work programme 2026
Consultation
This consultation sought feedback on potential competition issues in the electricity sector. The feedback we have received will help the Electricity Authority and the Commerce Commission shape the Energy Competition Task Force’s 2026 work programme, to ensure the best outcomes for competition and consumers.
The Task Force has been exploring the possible scope of projects it could deliver in 2026. This open letter outlines our early thinking about potential projects and areas of focus.
We invited feedback on these proposed projects and focus areas, and welcomed any additional ideas the Task Force should consider. Thanks to all who provided feedback.
We will refine, scope and prioritise this work alongside submissions before any decisions are made on the final work programme.
