About the indicators
These indicators help us monitor how and when changes affect the opportunities and challenges relates to future security and resilience. This is part of our Future Security and Resilience work programme that is focused on how to ensure New Zealand's electricity system remains secure and resilient in the coming decades.
We have identified three key themes around the:
- rise of distributed energy and inverter-based resources
- changing generation portfolio
- foundational opportunities and challenges
We intend to develop these indicators over time, as our understanding of the issues develops, and as different data sources become available.
We are open to hearing about other indicators and welcome suggestions to fsr@ea.govt.nz
