Code amendment omnibus consultation
- Code
- Innovation
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko has released a consultation paper seeking feedback on the following three discrete proposed amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code:
- amending Part 6A to include all generation technology
- making a permanent Code amendment to clarify use and availability of controllable load
- updating and clarifying the scope and effect of Part 6A obligations.
We have reintroduced the omnibus as a vehicle to consult on multiple discrete proposals to amend the Code. Our intent is to move quicker on amendments and streamline the process to reduce the number of consultation papers we publish.
We are committed to working differently to ensure regulation keeps up with the transformation underway across the electricity sector.
We welcome feedback on any or all of the proposals in the omnibus consultation paper to policyconsult@ea.govt.nz by Friday 9 February 2024.
