Feedback sought on common quality Code change proposals

  • Policy
  • Code

We are seeking feedback on proposals aimed at addressing six common quality issues in the Code.

The six proposed amendments will update Code terminology, clarify requirements, and remove inconsistencies in Parts 1, 7 and 8 of the Code.

The proposals are expected to help maintain the security and resilience of the power system and keep downward pressure on consumers’ power bills by:

  • reinforcing the ability of the System Operator to take necessary actions
  • promoting the efficient operation of the electricity industry
  • increasing competition by promoting competitive neutrality.

This omnibus consultation follows on from seven amendments that came into effect in May 2025 after consultation. Submissions on these six new proposals close at 5pm, Tuesday 12 May 2026.

We anticipate publishing our decision before the end of 2026.
