Code review programme #5 decisions
- Code
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko would like to thank all submitters who provided feedback on our Code review programme #5 consultation.
We have decided to implement 22 out of the 23 proposed changes to the Electricity Industry Participation Code. The changes include a variety of independent and relatively minor amendments to improve the Code’s clarity and keep it up to date as New Zealand’s electricity system evolves. We have also decided to correct a range of minor typographical and other errors in the Code.
All Code amendments will be effective from 1 March 2024.
We have also decided to implement an amendment to correct an issue with the transmission pricing methodology which we consulted on in May 2023. This will allow Transpower more flexibility in the calculation of regional net private benefits under the price-quantity method for Benefit Based Charge.
