Investigation into alleged breaches by Switch Utilities Limited

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (Authority) is investigating alleged breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) by Switch Utilities Limited.
On 3 June 2025, Switch Utilities Limited self-reported an alleged breach of clause 37(1) of Part 11A Schedule 11A.1 of the Code.
On 19 June and 3 July 2025, Switch Utilities Limited self-reported alleged breaches of clauses 37(3), 39 and 31(1)(f)(i) - (iii) of Part 11A Schedule 11A.1 of the Code.
The alleged breaches are in relation to the electrical disconnection of premises where an unverified medically dependent consumer was residing.
If any participant considers it is affected by the alleged breaches and wishes to join the investigation, it should contact the appointed investigator by 5pm, 18 August 2025.
