On 1 January 2026, amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code will take effect allowing the clearing manager to settle fixed price variable volume hedges using a new form of Hedge Settlement Agreement.

Industry participants can use this facility by completing the new agreement form found in Schedule 14.4 of the Code and submitting it to the clearing manager.

This change is designed to make hedge settlement more efficient, lower participants' prudential costs, which supports retail competition and will ultimately lower costs for consumers.
