Notice of investigation into Contact Energy

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is investigating an alleged breach of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 by Contact Energy Ltd.

The Authority alleges that from June 2017, Contact breached clause 10.24(b) of the Code.

These events concern the failure of Contact, as the trader, to ensure all electricity conveyed was quantified at a hospital in Auckland following the construction of new buildings in 2017 and 2024.

If any participant considers it is affected by the alleged breach and wishes to join the investigation, it should contact the appointed investigator by 5pm, 27 May 2026.
