Improving access to thermal fuel information
Improving information on the availability of thermal fuels.
Overview
We have decided to introduce new requirements for the provision of thermal fuels information to the Authority. These requirements and our approach to publication is set out in the clause 2.16 notice, effective 1 April 2025. Thermal generators are required to provide information on their fuel availability weekly, through the Authority’s information provision platform.
Information on the availability of thermal fuels for electricity generation is available in our thermal fuel dashboard.
There are also other sources of useful information published by a range of parties on thermal fuel supply, storage and cost. View sources of information disclosed about thermal fuels

Background
There is an absence of systematic and timely data about thermal fuel availability, which inhibits the ability of the Authority to undertake its functions and for market participants to make fully informed risk management decisions. This project aims to improve the collection and publication of information on the availability of thermal fuels.
