Review of urgent Code amendment to System Operator’s information gathering powers
Consultation
On 14 March 2025, the Authority made an urgent Code amendment to improve the System Operator’s information gathering powers.
The System Operator has used the information gathering powers to collect thermal fuel information from generators to create its monthly electricity risk curves and simulated storage trajectory analysis.
This consultation seeks feedback on a proposal to make the urgent Code amendment permanent so that industry has access to the right information ahead of winter to keep consumers’ electricity supply secure.
An urgent Code amendment expires after nine months unless made permanent by a subsequent Code amendment. This urgent amendment is due to expire on 14 December 2025.
