Overview
We are seeking feedback on our proposed levy-funded appropriations for 2026/27.
For 2026/27, we propose to absorb up to $3.2 million in expected cost increases next year for enforcing fair market rules and inflation-related pressures. We also propose to absorb expected costs as a result of the Government’s commitment to strengthening the Authority following the Frontier report.
We propose a small increase only to cover inflation-linked contractual obligations to our third-party service providers, who account for nearly two-thirds of our costs. This means an overall uplift in our funding of $0.3 million, or about 3 cents on an average annual household bill.
We welcome your feedback by 5pm, Tuesday 16 December.

Project background
We're funded by the Government through appropriations of public money. The Government recovers this cost through a levy on electricity industry participants.
Each year we consult on our levy-funded appropriations for the upcoming financial year to enable us to meet our statutory objectives and deliver our key objectives on behalf of electricity consumers.
The Minister’s decision and our funding level for each financial year is announced on Budget Day.
