Authority issues RFP for independent review of System Operator performance framework and value for money

  • Corporate

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (Authority) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a provider to conduct an independent review of the System Operator.

The review will look at how the System Operator’s performance should be assessed, whether current arrangements deliver value for money, and identify opportunities for improvement.

We expect the review to be completed by the end of 2026. The findings will help inform negotiations for the next System Operator Service Provider Agreement between the Authority and the System Operator, shaping future performance expectations, accountability settings, and value-for-money outcomes.
