Code amendment omnibus #4 decision
- Consumers
- Code
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is making four discrete amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 under Code amendment omnibus #4 to:
- improve a customer’s access to their electricity information (effective 1 June 2025)
- remove the time error obligations on the system operator (effective 1 June 2025)
- permit the clearing manager to settle fixed price variable volume hedges (effective 1 January 2026)
- remove the obligation on the Authority to consult on non-contentious under frequency events (effective 1 June 2025).
We have withdrawn part of the first proposed amendment, relating to reduced timeframes for responding to electricity information requests. We have, however, proceeded with the second and third parts of that amendment relating to increasing free access to data and clarifying what electricity information is to be provided upon request.
We are proceeding with the other three amendments as originally proposed.
We would like to thank all submitters who provided feedback on the proposed amendments. There were 13 submissions.
Read our decision paper to find out the reasons for our decisions and our responses to submissions.
