Consultation

We’re seeking feedback on four discrete amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 to:

  1. Improve consumers’ access to their electricity data
  2. Remove the system operator’s obligation to eliminate frequency time error
  3. Introduce a hedge settlement agreement for fixed price variable volume hedges
  4. Remove the need for the Electricity Authority to consult on under-frequency events if the causer admits culpability.

We welcome feedback on any or all of these proposals by Tuesday 15 October 2024.

Our preference is to receive submissions in Microsoft Word in the format shown in Appendix E to policyconsult@ea.govt.nz by 5pm, Tuesday 15 October 2024.

We wish to publish all submissions to be transparent. If you consider that we should not publish any part of your submission, please:

  • indicate which part should not be published and explain why, and
  • provide a version that we can publish (if we agree not to publish your full submission).
