Deadline extended for feedback on 11 July 2025 under-frequency event

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko (Authority) has extended the period for feedback from participants who may be substantially affected by the under-frequency event (UFE) on 11 July 2025.

We have extended the deadline for feedback on the draft determination of causer by one week to allow participants more time to respond. Feedback is now due by 5pm, Friday 30 January 2026 to compliance@ea.govt.nz

The Authority’s draft determination is that Transpower New Zealand Limited, as the System Operator, is the causer of the UFE. You can read the reasons in full in our draft determination of causer consultation paper.

All submissions will be considered before a determination on the UFE is finalised.
