- Wholesale
On 26 February, the Energy Competition Task Force launched a consultation on certain aspects of the proposed non-discrimination obligations, which are aimed at levelling the competitive playing field between the gentailers and independent third parties.
The non-discrimination obligations are part of a range of Electricity Authority initiatives designed to support market investment and competition in the wholesale and retail markets, which will benefit consumers.
The closing date for this consultation has been extended from 19 to 24 March 2026, with final decisions targeted for May. The Retail Price Consistency Assessment implementation date remains 1 July 2026.
